About Philly Foodworks
Dedicated to creating a more sustainable food system for the Great Philadelphia region.
Located at 1978 W Hunting Park Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19140, Philly Foodworks operates as a caterer serving Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 amβ5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Philly Foodworks at (215) 221-6245; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, phillyfoodworks.com.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I found Philly Foodworks as a result of the latest food safety issues nationwide. I am so glad I did. While the prices are a bit high, so are the prices at the grocery store, but the quality is significantly better with Philly Foodworks. I am only two orders in, but have already fallen in love with the service. Corn, cantaloupe, and tomatoes have been the standouts so far. The taste of the fruit and veggies brings me back to my time in Lancaster County. Worth every single penny, and it comes TO MY DOOR! Finally, there's no plastic and they take back as much as they can to reuse. You will not be disappointed.

Philly Foodworks my beloved - truly I haven't bought vegetables anywhere else since I signed up with them. The convenience of having fresh local produce of a quality that I can't find in the supermarket chains around me is unparalled! The mini-harvest share is also really nice for those who want to not think about what to get and are looking to branch out from the ingredients you always gravitate towards. I've tried a lot of new vegetables that I've had to research online for and they've all been incredible finds!! And the customer service? Above and beyond!! I've reached out a couple of times with questions to these folks and every time I get a response back insanely fast, y'all are killing it!! All that to say, if you're busy and want to try out a farm share in Philly, start here. You just won't be able to go back after you try it!!

I started getting produce from Philly Foodworks for a few reasons. 1. I'm supporting local businesses and local farms (primarily though not exclusively) that desperately need it. 2. Their produce is extremely fresh and delicious!! 3. I got their small produce box weekly for months and tried so many new things. 4. I also got bread from a local bakery that I'd never have gotten myself otherwise! I highly recommend the Baker Street Sourdough. It's delightul. 5. They communicate superbly. 6. Their deliveries and drivers are prompt, professional, and courteous. How can a big box store **that is definitely overcharging you for their corporate max profit** compete with this? Simple: They can't. So why did I just end my subscription services? Because I grow my own produce in my yard. I'm super fortunate to have the means of growing my own fruit and vegetables and so I'll stop being a subscriber for a little while. It's likely that I'll continue to support them as my primary produce and local grocer when I need something my garden can not provide. When my crops inevitably fail due to my lack of experience (not enthusiasm! ha!) I'll be back. Give these guys a shot. They're well, well, wort

I have been a Philly foodworks customer for over three years now and it was the best decision I have ever made. I was in the market for local produce, non gmo and organic. The quality is unmatched and when I say you can taste the difference I mean. I had never tasted carrots as fresh or potatoβs with so much flavor. Things you donβt realize when you are used to big box store imported low quality produce. Itβs also a huge relief to not have to worry every time there is a new listeria recall on items. This was huge for me during the cucumber and tomatoβs recalls two summers ago as I was pregnant and would only eat produce from Phillyfoodworks. I also appreciate the variety of other options they provide. The fresh pasta is delicious and Im a huge fan of the chicken sausages. The customer service is also great and very responsive. Itβs also nice to know you are supporting the community and with it receiving top notch quality items. Lastly they deliver! It is super convenient and just makes life easier.

We LOVE Philly Foodworks! We get a farm box every week and then do a la carte for most of our other foods for the week. Having fresh veggies, bread, cheese, fruits, kombucha, and tofu delivered once a week is so incredible. The quality and taste of the food is delicious (we joke that we are ruined for grocery store veggies at this point) and we've gotten to explore so many new types of veggies and fruits we'd never even heard of before. I also love being able to easily skip things if we're out of town and also subscribe to things, so I know we'll get it each week. I could not recommend this service enough! Would also recommend doing it with Bennett Compost, so all the scraps go right into the compost and the cycle continues!
